Everything You Need To Know About The Piezotome Cube

At The Pathway, we are proud to partner with Acteon to use their Piezotome Cube in our dental implant training courses. Compared to traditional rotary instruments, piezoelectric dental surgical tools offer a variety of benefits. We highly recommend the Piezotome Cube to every dentist who walks through our doors. Why? Read on and find out!

What Is The Piezotome Cube, And How Is It Used At The Pathway?

The Piezotome Cube is a piezoelectric surgical tool that is used to cut into and remove bone. It is an alternative to traditional rotary tools, which are what most dentists use to perform bone grafts, sinus lifts, and other related dental implant procedures.

The Piezotome Cube is very different from a rotary tool. Rather than using a spinning and rotating tip, it uses a metal tip that vibrates rapidly and easily cuts through bone tissue. This is similar to the way that an ultrasonic dental scaler works. However, piezoelectric tools like the Piezotome Cube are about six times more powerful than a dental scaler.

This means that the Piezotome Cube can easily cut through bone during dental surgery. Compared to rotary tools, piezoelectric surgical tools offer superior precision, cause less trauma to soft tissue, and allow for a faster and simpler surgical process.

We use the Piezotome Cube during all of our sinus grafting training courses at Implant Pathway. Compared to traditional rotary tools, the Cube makes it easier for dentists to get the training they need to deliver exceptional results in their own practices.

The Benefits – Why We Recommend The Piezotome Cube For Dentists

So, why should you choose the Piezotome Cube over traditional rotary tools, or over other piezoelectric surgical devices? Here are a few reasons why Dr. Justin Moody and the team at The Pathway love the Piezotome Cube:

  • Easy to use – Learning to use the Piezotome Cube is really easy, and it doesn't take long to get familiar with the controls and treatment process. Once you have the hang of it, you will find that surgeries are much faster and easier compared to traditional rotary tools.
  • Better patient experience – Using the Piezotome Cube means that your patients will enjoy faster healing, a lower risk of complications, and less swelling and bleeding overall. This means you can deliver truly exceptional care at your office.

  • Exceptional versatility – Along with sinus lifts and bone grafts, the Piezotome Cube can be used for many other procedures. These include tooth extractions, ridge splitting, crown extension, and more. With specialized tips for each procedure, you will have all the tools you need to deliver the best possible standard of care at your office.
